Community Learning Partnership:
Funded by the Ford Family Foundation this effort has the basic premise
that through vibrant partnerships, school can help build strong communities
and communities can help build strong schools. The goals include: Development
of a Community Resource Bank, offer theater and arts programs, create
Youth Leadership opportunities, provide outdoor and experiential learning
opportunities, enhance foreign language training, create senior citizen
involvement opportunities,
expand library resources, provide family activities and support parenting
efforts.
Thanks to the Ford Family Foundation grant these kinds of community
and child involvement can take place.
RAD
is an outdoor program that provides leadership training for
middle and high school students in an outdoor setting. In addition
the group has published a book and have their own website at
RADVentures.org where
you can read a sample chapter in the book!
